"The Development Advice: 'A Gift to Yourself'"
Saskia Webbers has been working in the healthcare sector for many years, primarily with a healthcare organization. A post on the intranet about development advice got her thinking. "I am a typical example of someone who has grown within the healthcare sector. I have seen the sector change; the level of education is increasing. I anticipate that, at my job level, in a few years, we will all need to have a bachelor's degree. That's not for me. I am more of a hands-on person. When I read the message about the development advice, I thought: 'I'll do that.' I saw it mainly as a gift to myself: taking the time to critically evaluate my career with an expert. In recent years, I discovered that I really enjoy job coaching. I wanted to use the development advice to find out if I could develop further in this area."
Saskia had a conversation with Jacques Nieling from Thaeles. "We clicked immediately. Jacques really held up a mirror for me and made me look critically at myself. Truly a gift. He didn't provide answers; he let me discover them myself. The tests revealed that job coaching indeed suits me. A nice confirmation. Furthermore, I discovered that I have a great affinity for DIY and interior design. That has now become a nice hobby of mine. I haven't parked my job coaching dream yet. I am going to shadow at an external job coaching company and with a colleague within our organization who holds a similar position."
