Assessments

Get more return from talent

Assessments

Assessments

As an employer, it is crucial to have motivated and engaged employees, and vice versa. Therefore, it is essential to know to what extent qualities, motives, and competencies align with the job and what the employee's development potential is. Thaeles offers various assessment programs to provide you with valuable information, including individual assessments, team assessments, capacity research, competency research, and career checks.

Our assessments are conducted following the NIP code (Dutch Institute of Psychologists). We first coordinate the research question and focus points with you as the client (via phone) and make agreements about the process, duration, and feedback.

Before the assessment, the participant receives a personal invitation with information about the components and links to questionnaires. The assessment day itself includes a cognitive capacity test, role-playing, a competency-based interview, and concludes with a feedback session. The report, following NIP guidelines, is only sent to the employer after approval by the participant.

Individual assessments
These include development assessments and career assessments. A development assessment provides insight into work and thinking level, skills, competencies, motives, behavior, and motivation through online questionnaires, tests, criterion-based interviews, and role-playing. This helps in developing future plans for employees, both when entering a new position and striving for a new role within the organization.

A selection assessment answers questions about the suitability of a candidate for a specific position. It provides a clear overview of personal qualities, skills, and interests, supported by tests and interview methods.

Team assessment
The team assessment focuses on the development potential of multiple employees, teams, or business units in relation to the organization's course. Cognitive capacity surveys measure general intelligence, while competency surveys assess work-related competencies such as performance motivation, planning and organizing, and collaboration. The report can be tailored for selection or development.

Cognitive capacity survey
This measures the ability to learn, reason, handle new situations, and problem-solve, providing insight into general intelligence and thinking level.

Competency research
In these studies, we evaluate work-related skills, such as performance motivation, planning and organizing, collaboration, flexibility, etc. The report can be tailored for selection or development.

Assessment Day

Assessment Day

What does the assessment day at Thaeles look like?

You are going to participate in a selection or development assessment. What does that mean and how does it work?

An assessment will provide an answer to the question of how well you meet the required competencies for the intended position (selection assessment) or which competencies you could potentially develop (development assessment).

Firstly, you will receive an invitation email from Thaeles containing the following:

  • Date and time of the assessment with the address of Thaeles' location and the name of the psychologist conducting the assessment.
  • A practice link for preparing for the cognitive test. A cognitive test assesses your general work and thinking level and the likelihood of performing well in the intended position.
  • Links to various questionnaires (such as personality, motivations, values, and/or leadership). You can complete these questionnaires at home, at a time convenient for you.

On the agreed-upon day and time, you will arrive at Thaeles' location. A brief introductory conversation will take place with the psychologist. During the session:

  • A cognitive test
  • One or two role-playing scenarios (depending on the position and focused on behavior and attitude)
  • A competency-based interview (focused on the experiences you have encountered in practice).

The duration of an assessment is generally 4 hours, one half-day. After this session, a brief feedback session will be provided on the results.

Subsequently, the psychologist will create an individual report with clear advice. According to the code of the Dutch Institute of Psychologists (NIP), this report will be sent to you first. It will only be forwarded to the organization upon your approval.
