Informal care

Our country now has 5 million informal caregivers, of which 70% combine their paid work with caregiving responsibilities.

During their careers, employees may find themselves in a situation where they have to provide informal care. Generally, this is something that happens to them, and there is usually no conscious choice made beforehand. In many cases, this combination goes smoothly. However, we now know that 18% of absenteeism is related to informal caregiving.

Experts have recently worked hard on a guide with practical tools. Developed in collaboration with a knowledge circle of experts and end-users, the goal of this guide is to contribute to addressing the challenges faced by both working caregivers and their employers. The challenge is to combine work and caregiving and to find solutions to potential difficulties in that combination. The focus is on having meaningful conversations.

Additionally, there is a focus on prevention: implementing caregiver-friendly human resources policies. How to do this may vary for each organization, but we are open to discussions and willing to share our experiences.

What we offer:

  • In-company meetings for informal caregivers
  • Inspirational sessions
  • Facilitation of group meetings on caregiving
